Gina Shanahan
We're saddened to have to pass on news of the death of Gina Shanahan on 29 November 2021. She died peacefully after a long fight against illness.
Many of us have known Gina for a number of years, initially through mini and youth rugby and then throughout the club. She was a livewire, loved life and was always at the thick of things. Family and rugby were central to her life and that was clear to all of us. We have fond memories of her vociferous support at youth games and then senior games once Ruiri stepped up.
Gina attended the October VP lunch - making the most of everything including the time she had left.
We will miss Gina’s sense of fun and liveliness around the place. Our thoughts are with Alan, Ruiri and Megan.

Graham Walker
It is with great sadness that we announced the news that Graham Walker a stalwart of Letchworth rugby club and a past Hertfordshire president died in hospital after a seven year battle with cancer.
To us older club members Graham was both a friend in the bar and a respected adversary on the field. He was a man of great depth, generous with his time and his soul and he will be sadly missed. My heart goes out to his wife Jo, his family and our many friends at Letchworth rugby club.
I hope that in these harrowing times, we can remember Graham with a smile on our faces; he was a great man of rugby and his loss will leave a big hole in many peoples lives.

Mark Adamson
We were deeply saddened by the loss of Mark Adamson, U18s coach and devoted father of Tom and Mollie Adamson. His passing follows only a few weeks after his wife, Dawn, lost her brave battle with cancer.
Mark was a wonderful man and a former Vice-Chair of our Youth section. He was a selfless servant of the club and will be greatly missed.
His funeral was held on Monday 9th December at 2.30pm at St Andrew's Church, Langford. Club members and under 18 players attended in large numbers to pay their respects at his funeral. The clubhouse was open afterwards for anyone who wanted like to congregate and remember Mark.
Hitchin Rugby Club also set up a Just Giving page in honour of Mark. All funds raised were used to support his commitment to creating some special time and memories for his children Tom and Mollie around the time of their mother's birthday and to support the introduction of a Youth trophy at Hitchin Rugby Club in Mark’s name.
Brian Chapman (BAJ)
BAJ was a long-standing Life Member, who did so much for the club over many years, particularly in helping restore the club’s fortunes in 1966 and onwards.
His memorial service was held at St Giles Church, Bury Lane, Codicote, Hitchin SG4 8XX on Friday 11 January 2019 at 2.00pm and was attended by many of his former Hitchin team mates:
