As this was the last game before the 4th team changes it's name to the Hedgehogs I thought I had better mark this game as one of the best I have played in for a long time. It was an excellent all round effort with both teams playing full on for 80 minutes and the lead changing several times before Hitchin pulled away in the last 10 minutes to win the game 31 - 19. A couple of newcomers to the team did very well and I will mention Adam Reed-Peck and Steven Browning for slotting in and doing a good job. Mighty Joe the younger (Allison) is coming on in leaps and bounds under the guidance of his Dad Joe Senior and the usual old stalwarts did a number on the opposition forwards with some real commitment and I do think Mark Gibson was unlucky to get a yellow card at the end as I think he was just being very enthusiastic in his Rucking and Mauling and a more experienced Ref would have controlled the situation better. So the last game for the 4ths was a well deserved victory and now on to the Mighty Hedgehogs ! This team will be selected from a ring fenced squad of 22 players who will not be chosen for any other team . If you want to be part of this you will need to give me or Chris Jones your name as soon as possible .
